Drums Recording - "Guitar Pirates" The Single
Thursday, March 15, 2012
Hey Gang!
Today I felt like posting some info on the drums recording of the Guitar Pirates single!

At Loud Fi studio we used the following microphones:
For the Kick:
1 - AKG - D112
1 - Yamaha speaker (as a sub kick mic)
Snare:
2 - SM 57
Hi hat:
1 AKG C 451 B
Toms:
1 Sennheiser E 905
1 Sure beta 56 A
Overheads:
2 Neumann U87
Rooms:
AKG
2 - AKG C414
Mic Pre's:
2 Amek Channel in a box
2 Neve … ( I do not remember the exact No, because they were taken from an old Neve console)
2 Universal Audio 2-1176 ( stereo compressor )
Yamaha DM 1000 - for the rest of the microphones
After recording, I edited the drums in my studio and used some plug-ins to compress and EQ them. The one I liked the most was the Waves SSL channel (TDM). I found that it sounded great on drums.
You can hear the song at:

Thank you for stopping by and see you soon.
Enjoy the music
